There are moments when my prayers feel like they rise into the air and disappear, unanswered. I sit with my journal, writing letters to the Lord, pouring out my heart, my hopes, my hurts. And sometimes, there is only silence. No clear sign. No immediate relief. Just the quiet hum of life moving forward while I wait.
Waiting is hard.
I have wrestled with silence, questioned its meaning, wondered if I was unheard, unseen. But in the stillness of Adoration, something shifted. I stopped fighting the quiet. I leaned in. And there, in the hush of that sacred space, I discovered the miracles hidden in waiting.
Peace. A deep, steady peace that doesn’t come from things going my way, but from knowing I am not alone.
Presence. The awareness that even in silence, I am held. That God is near, not in grand gestures but in the smallest moments—a birdsong in the early morning, the warmth of coffee in my hands, the comfort of words written in prayer.
Blessings. The kind I once overlooked. The kindness of a friend, the laughter of my child, the way light filters through the window at just the right angle to remind me that beauty exists even in waiting.
I have learned that silence is not absence. It is invitation. An invitation to trust, to keep writing, to keep praying, to believe that even when I cannot hear an answer, I am still heard.
When You Feel Unanswered, Try This:
- Write It Down. Journaling your prayers can help you see where your heart is and how your faith is growing, even in waiting. Let your words be honest, raw, and real.
- Seek the Small Blessings. What simple joys surround you today? A favorite song? A gentle breeze? A shared smile? Write them down and let them remind you that goodness is still present.
- Sit in Silence. Instead of rushing to fill the quiet, let yourself rest in it. Take deep breaths. Close your eyes. Let peace settle in the stillness.
- Pray for Someone Else. When your own prayers feel unanswered, shift your heart outward. Write a prayer for a friend, a loved one, or even someone you don’t know well. Love multiplies when shared.
- Trust the Process. Know that silence does not mean abandonment. Your prayers are heard, your heart is known, and in time, answers will come in ways you may not expect.
So I will keep journaling my prayers, keep offering my love in written form, keep lifting my heart in quiet surrender. And in the waiting, I will find peace. I will find joy. I will find the gentle, persistent whisper of blessings unfolding in their own time.
So, pour yourself a cup of coffee, find a quiet place to rest your heart, and know that you are not alone. We are in this together, finding peace in the waiting, one prayer at a time. Until next time, my friend.
Love & Blessings,
Jenny
